Section V
Final Reflections

We have been doing a lot of improvements on our presentation skills. Instead of using paragraphs, we started using bullet points. Starting to connect one slide to another, how it is connected and created a chain reaction on the topic.
Our biggest struggle is the preparation and mental readiness. We sometimes feel that we hadn’t prepare enough even if we did. Sometimes, we also go off topic and got a bad grade for doing that.

We started off improving our responsibilities. A lot of us like to put things off in the last minuted such as a LDL. A lot of our members only do it in the morning of the LDL. They didn’t even prepare it at night. So we implemented Kaizen in our life. We kept rushing ourselves to do it now and not later or tomorrow.

We also started to connect the things we were suppose to do in the presentations. For example, if we were suppose to talk about the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, we connected why and how the black hand assassinated him. And not just copy paste stuff from the internet. Instead we read the articles and reflected it on ourselves and made our own reasons on why they did it.

We were late on implementing Kaizen on our lives though. The last Portfolio we did wasn’t a five month project at all. It was a 3 week project. We crammed everything in 3 weeks because we were soccer balls and inexperienced.

Bloom Notes

In History, it shows that the pyramid above that we need to use this concept to have a higher order thinking. It shows, that we have an active class to order to interact and learn from each other about the topic. We are formed to groups and needs to apply the “Bloom’s Taxonomy” in our portfolio and we need to remember this important concept for the next level.

·          Hitler came to power in 1933 and within 6 years Germany was fighting a war which lasted 6 years and effected countries (directly and indirectly) that spanned the globe.
·         A British historian wrote: “The Second World War was Hitler’s personal war. He intended it, he prepared for it, he chose the moment for launching it.
·         Let’s review the countdown to war:
·         Before the Putsch in 1923: Demands from the Nazi Party were-
-          Union of ALL Germans to form a Greater Germany
-          Cancellation of the TOV
-          Land and colonies to feed our people and settle our surplus population
·         From Mein Kampf:
-          Reunion of Germany and Austria is our life task
-          Germany has an annual increase of 900,000..securing of new land for this excess population has great advantages. Must be carried out in Europe. Turn our gaze to the land in the East.
·         Hitler’s speeches in the 1920’s-1930’s:
-          ..”There will never be a solution to the German problem until we return to the idea of struggle…”
-          “.. I aimed from the start to be a destroyer of Communism. I am going to achieve this task.”

·         Hossbach Memo in 1937 (speech to leaders of armed forces):
-          “..Hitler asked that this be regarded, in the event of his death, his last will and testament...”
-          “..The aim of German foreign policy was to defend Germany and to enlarge it. It was therefore a question of space.. Where could it gain the greatest gain at the lowest cost...”

-          “.. our first objective must be to overthrow Czechoslovakia and Austria.”
